The process is complex. We know it by heart — we've guided dozens of people through it.
To settle in Madagascar, you have to combine two procedures: first get a transformable (long-stay) visa in your country of residence, then convert it into a Resident Card once on the ground, in Antananarivo.
Issued by the Madagascar Embassy or Consulate in your country of residence. It authorises entry with intent to stay. Without it, no conversion into a Resident Card is possible.
The exact list varies by embassy. We provide the precise checklist applicable to your situation.
Once in Madagascar you convert the visa into a Resident Card at EDBM (Economic Development Board of Madagascar). Valid 1, 3 or 5 years depending on your file and activities.
It's not transformable. You'll need to exit and restart — wasted time and money.
EDBM refuses the file without a detailed explanation. Everything must be redone within the deadline.
Some justifications don't lead to a long-duration card. We help you pick the right track for your project.
The whole process: file preparation, appointments, EDBM follow-up, document translation, physical accompaniment if needed. You know in advance how much it costs and how long it takes.
